The crew over at Senner Tuning have pointed their guns on the pre-facelift Audi S5 Sportbackwith the release of a new package that aims to improve both the performance and styling aspects of Ingolstadt’s liftback model.

Underhood, the S5′s 3.0-liter TSI V6 gains a software optimization, a new air filter and a custom exhaust system, all of which do their part to lift output from 333HP and 440Nm to 445-horses and 530Nm (390.9 lb-ft) of peak torque.

Senner Tuning’s engineers then go on to revise the chassis with an adjustable suspension from Bilstein that drops the ride height by around 40mm at the front axle and 35mm at the rear.

The cosmetic surgery on the outside is restricted to the matte black trim on the grille and the window surrounds, the new tail pipes and 20-inch multispoke alloy wheels wrapped around high-performance Conti Sport Contact 5P tires size 255/30R20 up front and 295/25R20 at the back.

A carbon fiber treatment inside completed the tune, which will cost buyers in Europe a total of €15,000 or about US$20,600 at the current exchange rates.

Audi Presents Facelifted RS 5 Coupé

If you just ordered the RS 5 Coupé, you may want to skip this article… A little over a year after its market launch in Europe in late spring of 2010, but luckily for North American consumers, a few months before the sales launch, Audi has presented a mild cosmetic facelift for its performance model that follows in the lines of the rest of the updated A5 and S5 series.

The chief exterior changes on the outside are concentrated up front where the RS 5 gains a new single-frame grille with beveled upper corners along with the re-sculptured “wave” headlamps framed by narrow strips of LED daytime running lights, revised bumper and sharper edges on the hood.

The subtly modified tail lamp crystals and the newly designed 19-inch forged aluminum wheels with 265/35-series tires or optional, 20-inch wheels with 275/30-series tires, round out the difference on the outside.

Moving on the interior, there’s a new leather multifunction sport steering wheel with a flattened bottom, while the ignition key, the column stalks and the shift lever knob have also been redesigned.

Audi Drops First Photos of A2 Concept

Audi A2 Concept 60 450x243 Audi Drops First Photos of A2 Concept
Less than a week after publishing the preview renderings of its Frankfurt Motor Show-bound A2 Concept, Audi today issued the first (computer-enhanced) photos of its pure-electric hatchback that will inspire a production version scheduled to go on sale within the next two years.

The new study comes six years after Audi terminated the original A2, which was the first high-volume production, aluminum-bodied car. It’s conceptual successor does away with the costly aluminum build but adds an electric powertrain to the mix.

While details surrounding the production model remain scarce, it is believed that Audi will offer the A2 with both electric and conventional powerplants.

While 70mm taller than the current three-door A1 hatchback, the A2 Concept is 18mm shorter at 3,800mm (12.47 ft) long and 50mm narrower at 1,690mm (5.54 ft) wide.

Nevertheless, Audi says that the A2 offers “plenty of room for four people” thanks in part to the flat interior floorboard, the ultra-thin seats and the absence of a traditional dashboard and lower console.

Other highlights of the concept study include a dynamic light that runs below the edge of the window from the front to the rear of the car and which acts as side indicator emitting light impulses, while a similar light is also located in the cockpit area of the show car.

Audi Reveals New S7 Sportback with 420HP Bi-Turbo V8

When the doors open to the 64th IAA International Motor Show on the September 13, Audi will hold the world premiere of the all-new S7 Sportback.

The most potent member of the A7 Sportback family to date debuts a new 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged TFSI V8 engine that will also find its way under the hood of a variety of VW Group models including Audi’s own S6 and even Bentley’s Continental series.

The force-fed eight-cylinder motor generates an output of 420-horsepower and a peak torque of 550 Nm (405.7 lb-ft), allowing the S7 to complete the 0-100km/h (62mph) sprint in 4.9 seconds and reach an electronically limited top speed of 250km/h (155mph).

The V8, which uses the German firm’s “cylinder on demand” technology under part load, consumes on average an estimated 9.7 liters of fuel per 100 km (equal to 24.3mpg US).

A seven-speed S tronic dual clutch transmission and Audi’s quattro permanent all-wheel drive system with a self-locking center differential and torque vectoring, transfer power to the ground.

There’s also an optional sport differential that distributes the power in variable proportions between the rear wheels.

The S7 Sportback features an adaptive air suspension sport and the Audi drive select dynamics system, while braking is provided by large, internally ventilated disc brakes front and rear. Those willing to dig deep into their pockets can opt for the carbon fiber-ceramic discs.

New Audi S6 and S6 Avant

Joining the brand-new S7 Sportback in its world premiere at next month’s Frankfurt motor show will be the latest iterations of Audi’s S6 saloon and Avant models.

If you’ve already read the story on the S7, then you won’t be surprised to learn that both the S6 and S6 Avant pack the same 4.0-liter TFSI twin-turbocharged V8 with 420-horses and a constant 550 Nm (405.66 lb-ft) of torque from 1,400 to 5,300 rpm, which replaces the naturally-aspirated 5.2-liter V10 of the previous model.

Once again, power flows to the wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and Audi’s permanent all-wheel drive system.

In terms of performance, the S6 sedan is slightly faster than the S7 when it comes to acceleration as it completes the 0-100km/h (62mph) sprint in 4.8 seconds, while the Avant versions matches the five-door model with a time of 4.9 seconds.

Both the S6 sedan and station wagon have an electronically governed top speed of 250 km/h (155mph).
