Ohio Mitsubishi Car Dealership gathers fire for it's "Jihad" themed Radio Add

j2.0 Ohio Mitsubishi Car Dealership gathers fire for it's "Jihad" themed Radio Add
A Mitsubishi car dealership in Ohio aired a radio advertisement which declared “a jihad on the automotive market”. Jihad -the word actually meaning “Holy-war” can be interpreted in many ways but in this case has already offended some people.

Several stations rejected the Dennis Mitsubishi spot, which says sales representatives wearing “burqas”- head-to-toe traditional dress for Islamic women- will sell vehicles that can “comfortably seat 12 jihadists in the back.”

“Our prices are lower than the evildoers’ every day. “Just ask the pope”, the ad says. “Friday is fatwa Friday, with free rubber swords for the kiddies”. A fatwa is a religious edict. The owner of the dealership claims that it’s all in innocent good humor, however, I can probably say this add may piss a few people off. He claims the add may provide a sort of tension reliever for the current situation with terrorism.

Sorry but I can’t find an inch of humor in people that blow themselves up. And you know what? I don’t think the guys who came up with this “grotesque” commercial do either. Just think about all the publicity the dealership has got till now…

Scooped :Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X & Subaru Impreza WRX STi

B Scooped :Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X & Subaru Impreza WRX STi
I got my hands on this week’s Autocar magazine that features two wonderful photoshops of the upcoming Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X & its Subaru counterpart, the Impreza WRX STi. Here’s a summary of what they wrote:Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X : According to Autocar, we’re going to get a first view of the EVO X in the form of a production ready concept, at the Detroit Motor Show in January with the actual production version following in the Tokio Motor Show in October the same year. The most interesting fact though is that Autocar say’s that the being a member of the Lancer family, the EVO X will be based on the Dodge Caliber platform !

Subaru Impreza WRX STi : As most of us know, the next generation Subaru Impreza will be offered for the first time with a 5door hatchback body. Autocar, tells -and shows us through it’s nicely made photoshop, that the new Impreza’s design will be “Europeanized”. As for the mechanics, the top spec STi will be again fitted with Subarus 2.5 Litre boxer motor. via : Autocar

Japanese styling tuner DAMD came out with a really nice bodykit for Mitsubishi’s “i” mini car that includes side skirts, rear spoiler, bonnet garnish, sexy black alloys etc. Fortunately this time, DAMD designers avoided the temptation of adding an Aston Martin derived front mask like they did with the “Black X Metal” kit for the Nissan Skyline Coupe / Infinity G35 Coupe models.

SEMA Show: 300Hp Mitsubishi Evolander previews future Ralliart Edition

Carscoop%20Evolander%207 SEMA Show: 300Hp Mitsubishi Evolander previews future Ralliart Edition
As its name implies, the Evolander concept infuses the Outlander with performance elements and design cues from the Lancer Evolution. Don’t let yourself down cause it’s a concept though, as in Mitsubishi’s own words , “the Evolander represents the design and engineering possibilities of what could be an Outlander Ralliart production model in the future”

Specs: The output of the Outlander’s 3.0 V6 (220 hp) swells to 300 hp with the help of an ATI/Roadrace Engineering Procharger system. The increased power is fed through a 6speed automatic transmission actuated by the same paddle shifters that’ll equip the next generation performance model. The list of Evolander’s dynamic enhancements includes a Roadrace Engineering/Muellerized coilover suspension system and lightweight 20″ OZ wheels.

Exterior: The Evolander’s exterior design shares several characteristics with the Lancer Evolution like the fascia design with its cooling and brake duct intakes and the aggressively vented hood. The Lancer Evolution also lends rally-inspired, box flares to the Evolander, increasing the width of the vehicle at the fenders by 28 mm. The Evolander also features a more aggressive aerodynamic treatment, with lowered side sills, fender vents, a rear diffuser and a Ralliart rear spoiler.

Interior: The Evolander’s interior also fuses sporting elements from Evolution as the Recaro reclining racing seats that cradle and support driver and passenger helping improve a driver’s seating position and vehicle control during aggressive driving.
