Find a bargain with a newer used car
Buying a new car often seems like a silly move in the current market. After all, prices can drop by around £3,000 or £4,000 as soon as it gets driven away from the forecourt. As such, it’s always worth looking to buy used cars at Evans Halshaw and other resellers, as this could see you getting a near-new vehicle for an absolute bargain and only a couple of thousand miles on the clock.
There are a remarkable number of excellent benefits when buying a newer used car. For example, you’ll save money on car insurance and get one of the most reliable cars going, given they are now scrutinised for quality standards more than ever. What’s more, plenty of more recent used cars are still under their original factory warranty, meaning that you won’t need a third-party to fix them.
Given their smaller ownership history, the backstory of such vehicles can also be more easily traced using the vehicle identification number, while the negotiation process is generally less stressful given that there will likely be fewer faults. There will also be a smaller likelihood of botched mechanic work or cover-ups.
Of course, a car will be in better shape, too. Handling will be more precise, exhausts will be more efficient and horsepower will be much closer to the original figure (it has the tendency to dwindle over time). Vehicles from recent years are also more efficient, meaning you will pay less in road tax due to fewer emissions.
Optional extras will be of a higher standard, too. While cars have had CD players as standard for a number of years, they now have MP3 connectivity and Bluetooth on base models, so you have access to more in terms of media. Electric windows and sunroofs are also more likely to be fitted, while seat adjustments may even have more controls.
So when you approach a forecourt in future, consider newer used cars – you may never realise how much money you can save if you don’t!
